Working title: Democracy Identity and Citizenship in the Global South
This edited volume seeks to examine the ways in which democracies in the Global South contend with political identities, substantive citizenship (citizen as capacity), the fight for social justice and radical or critical political participation and democratic interventions in the twenty-first century. Critical theoretical perspectives are especially welcomed.
This call is looking specifically for scholars writing in the following areas:
- Democracy and democratization in any part Africa, Asia or the Pacific
- Social Justice in the Global South
- Economic Democracy in the Global South
