CFP: “Don’t Fence Me In: Frontierism and the American West”

The Nevada Historical Society invites abstracts for their conference: “Don’t Fence Me In:  Frontierism and the American West.”  This year’s theme includes topics such as:  geography, western history, mining, people and politics, communities, and Native Americans.  The organizers invite and encourage papers related to any aspect of Nevada history, the Great Basin, or the West.  In addition, a poster session will be held on Saturday, focusing on any of the above topics.

Please submit a 250 word abstract and a brief biography to Sheryln Hayes-Zorn, Acting Director of the Nevada Historical Society at shayeszorn@nevadaculture.org with the subject line “NHS Conference 2016″ along with your mailing address, phone number and email address no later than July 1, 2016.  A committee will review proposals and will notify participants by August 1, 2016.  For those interested in the poster session, please submit your topic and a brief biography to the same contact person by the same deadline as noted above.  Poster sizes may not exceed 40″x36” and will be showcased for the duration of the conference with an organized presentation session scheduled for Saturday.
