CFP: The University of Toronto History Department Graduate Journal: Past Tense

The editors of Past Tense invite work from MA or first or second year PhD student looking for their first publication in their Fall 2015 issue.

Past Tense is a double blind peer-reviewed graduate journal of the Department of History at the University of Toronto. Since the publication of its first issue in 2012, Past Tense has been dedicated to showcasing the work of graduate students from all disciplines and providing experience in academic publishing for ascending academics. Although subjects must be historical, the editors welcome articles focused on a broad geographic and chronological range.

Articles should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words, roughly 15-25 pages, (not including bibliography and footnotes) and book reviews should be between 500 and 750 words. The editors only accept reviews of academic works published within the past three years.

All submissions should be sent to pasttensejournal@gmail.com no later than June 15, 2015. Please submit all relevant contact information, including your full name, the title of your article, your departmental and institutional affiliations, and your e-mail address.

Past Tense accepts submissions on a rolling basis. In all cases, the editors aim to confirm with authors the submission of their work within a few days and to respond to authors regarding the status of their submissions within three to four months.

For more information about the publication process and guidelines, pleaseconsult the Past Tense website at: http://pasttensejournal.com.
