The Center for Interdisciplinary Studies at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for a two-year Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellowship related to the study of race and ethnicity to begin in August 2015. The full-time fellowship offers a competitive salary and includes full benefits as well as funds to support research and conference travel. Fellows are also offered the opportunity to enroll in courses offered by the Higher Education Consortium of Central Massachusetts’ Certificate in College Teaching Program, and to participate in a faculty development program that fosters excellence in teaching and scholarship.
The Fellow will teach four courses per year through the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies. Ideally, the candidate would be able to offer an introductory course related to comparative studies in race and ethnicity along with some combination of courses related to the following: race and ethnic relations, race and politics in a specific country (e.g. the United States) or in a global context, race and gender, ethnic conflict, or other courses related to the research interests of the candidate.
The position is open to candidates from a range of disciplinary backgrounds, but preference will be given to candidates who can bridge disciplinary divides and who can contribute to one or more of our interdisciplinary programs in Africana Studies, Asian Studies, Latin American and Latino Studies, Peace and Conflict Studies, and Women’s and Gender Studies.
