POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT: Assistant Professor in Women’s Studies

The Department of Women’s Studies at Kansas State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in Women’s Studies, beginning August 2015, with specialization in one or more of the following three areas:

• Queer and/or Transgender Studies
• Women and Health, Science, and/or Technology
• Women and Violence

Preference given to candidates whose research attends to issues of difference and diversity.

The Women’s Studies Department at KSU offers an undergraduate Major in Women’s Studies, a Minor in Women’s Studies, a Minor in Queer Studies, and a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies. This position will include developing and teaching courses for any of these degrees, at levels varying from general education to graduate courses. Teaching load is 3-2. Position expectations will also include active research leading to publication, service at university and department levels, and advising students; and may include serving on graduate committees in other departments. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence in the classroom as well as research involvement in their field. Commitment to diversity through pedagogy and course content required. PhD in Women’s Studies by August 2015 preferred; PhDs in related fields as well as ABD candidates will be considered.
