The Department of American Studies at the University of Texas at Austin invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position to begin in fall 2015. The desired areas of specialization include Digital Humanities, Ethnic Studies, Literature, Music, and/or Queer Studies. Duties include research, graduate and undergraduate teaching, and service to the department, college and university. It is expected that the successful candidate will teach at least one of the department’s core lecture courses each year. In addition to a commitment to teaching at the highest level and a clearly defined research agenda, the successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in American Studies or related field prior to appointment.
